Mollis Airfield (LSMF)

Mollis Airfield combines the advantages of a spacious airfield with a unique location on the edge of the Alps. Just one hour from the greater Zurich area, it offers direct access to the Glarus Alps, the Mittelland and the flying areas towards Lake Constance, Germany and Austria.

With a length of 1,800 metres and a width of 40 metres, the tarmac runway is one of the most spacious in Switzerland. It offers a high level of safety during take-off and landing, particularly for self-launch gliders. The generous airspace around Mollis also allows for an easy introduction to cross-country flying.

The airfield, which will be fully refurbished by 2025, and its modern infrastructure create ideal conditions for gliding. An asphalted apron, short distances between the hangar and the runway, and good accessibility make Mollis an attractive location for flight students, club pilots and private pilots.

The location also has much to offer on the ground. The Glarus region combines alpine landscapes with a high quality of life and a relaxed atmosphere. Anyone spending a day flying in Mollis often feels as though they are on holiday within just a few minutes.

Getting here

Mollis is easily accessible by both car and public transport.

By car, the journey from Zurich takes around 40 minutes. The airfield is situated between Mollis and Netstal and is easily accessible via the A3 motorway.

If travelling by train, we recommend getting off at Netstal. From there, it’s about a ten-minute walk to our hangar.
