From Your First Flight to the Arcus M

Our fleet supports pilots from their very first training flight through to ambitious cross-country soaring. Depending on experience and qualifications, different aircraft are available, providing the ideal platform for the next step in a pilot’s development.

Training begins in our modern DG-1000 two-seat trainer. This high-performance aircraft is ideally suited not only for basic instruction but also for Alpine and cross-country flights. After their first solo flights, pilots transition to our forgiving DG-300s, where newly licensed pilots can build valuable experience and confidence.

As experience grows, more capable aircraft become available. Our 18-metre-class DG-800 opens the door to serious cross-country soaring, enabling high average speeds and long flights throughout the Alps and beyond.

A particular highlight of our fleet is the self-launching Arcus M. This modern high-performance two-seater ranks among the finest gliders in its class and is available to suitably qualified pilots at attractive rates. Its self-launch capability provides a high degree of flexibility and independence.

As the only gliding club in the Zurich metropolitan area to operate its own winch, we also offer a unique training opportunity. Once a month, we conduct winch-launch operations, providing student and experienced pilots alike with an efficient and cost-effective way to practise take-offs and landings.

We continuously develop and expand our fleet. The planned acquisition of an additional DG-300 will provide further capacity for newly licensed pilots looking to gain their first experience as independent glider pilots.
